SUMMER. 1844. The West grows as wild as the land it rests on, and the people who inhabit it are no exception. In a time where a man’s word and his gun are the highest law, before Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp rose to prominence, PORTER ROCKWELL reigned King of the Midwest. After being run out of Missouri, Rockwell and those he swore to protect settled in the neighboring state of Illinois to finally make a home for themselves after escaping religious persecution. With his family gone and his best friend murdered, Porter finds each day harder than the last to uphold promises made to his loved ones.

Adi and her boyfriend Eric love each other, certainly. But the voices and opinions of their family, friends, and society at large grow ever louder. Insecurities and inhibitions, kept secret, lead to dangerous miscommunications as Adi and Eric grasp at straws to keep their relationship together. Is their love enough or will they slip away from each other?
As Porter is haunted by the ghosts of his past, the man responsible for his friend’s death still roams free across the Mississippi. He now faces the question; does he exact revenge or stay true to his promised word? As each second passes, his community is continuously hunted. It is said he was blessed by a holy man, and neither bullet nor blade can kill him. He is called the Destroying Angel, Samson of old reborn. What could possibly be a threat to this seemingly invincible man? As the storm approaches and the barrels of loaded guns aim closer, what will become of this legend?
